Help us campaign today for a better tomorrow!

My name is Anna Wilhelmi, and I am running for the office of DeKalb County Board. I have called DeKalb County my home since 2005. I live on a small 5 acre farmette full of walnut trees in rural Earlville, where I have horses, dogs and chickens. I am an attorney and have been practicing law nearly 30 years. This November there is one seat in our district that is up for election, and I am asking that you vote for me, Anna Wilhelmi, for the County Board. I am a proud graduate of Northern Illinois University for both my undergraduate and for my law degree, and I have spent much of my career doing a variety of legal work, including but not limited to small claims, criminal defense, family law, personal injury, real estate transactions, and election law. I have dedicated hundreds of hours to pro-bono work, as I enjoy public service. I am also a small business owner. I have owned my own law practice since the year 2000, and I know well the hardships small business owners encounter, but I also know the satisfaction and pride in owning one’s own business. I also realize the benefits of Labor Union jobs. My family members, both past and present, and I, are strong supporters of Labor Unions, and we have pipefitters, carpenters, teamsters, and other Unions who protect our family members and made sure they had livable wages and benefits. Collective bargaining of Unions has made everyone's lives better by keeping wages up and competing with other employers who pay less than a living wage.
This election, vote for Anna Wilhelmi for County Board. I am asking for your vote for County Board on or before November 3, 2026. Thank you for your support.

I became interested in County Board level business when I discovered our DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center (DCRNC) was put up for sale and there was unrest in the community about the sale. As I started to investigate the situation, I discovered there were issues with the sale and met many great people who were opposed to the sale. After much ado the sale was terminated by the County Board, and the DCRNC is now no longer under contract and the County Board intends to keep the Nursing home. After this decision was made, the Board decided to create an Oversight Board, one that would oversee the DCRNC and make sure what happened does not happen again. I was appointed to the Oversight Board and was elected as Chair. As the Oversight Board Chair, I did my best to ensure nothing like that happens again to our 170-year-old County home. Although I am no longer Chair, I am still an Oversight Board Member, and I am passionate about the DCRNC and that it thrive along with our community. We hold great pride in the DCRNC.
My opponent was in favor of the sale of the nursing home. She was so much against keeping the home that she took the time and energy to make public comments to the entire County Board. This very much concerns me and motivates me to fight hard to win this seat.
The reason I am running for County Board has everything to do with making sure the DCRNC becomes its best self. I want to make sure our water, energy and farmland is of high quality and abundant. We need to take care of our limited resources, and that means being mindful of clean and abundant energy in our County. · Strong Unions make strong Communities, and working families thrive where Union labor is prevalent. Small Businesses are the core of this country, and we should support and encourage small businesses to grow and thrive.
